“VDM-tekhnika” LLC performs R&D and pilot production of electric motors and electric generators based on the synchronous electric machines with the permanent magnet excitation, power and control electronics, electric drives, small wind turbines and micro hydro plants. The company has skilled staff with many years of experience in solving scientific and productive problems.
"VDM-tekhnika" LLC has scientific and design departments, cutting-edge testing and pilot production bases, successfully exploits more than 20 years of technological advance in the form of the results of research, development and engineering works for use in products for various purpose.
The inventions of "VDM-tekhnika" LLC refer to a new stage of development of smart electro-mechanical drive systems and are based on R&D aimed at reducing the weight and dimensions, the use of advanced conducting, magnetic and insulating materials.
"VDM-tekhnika" LLC is a participant of the Technology platform "Promising renewable energy technologies". The project aims to develop wind turbine generators for a more efficient use of wind energy, it is included in the strategic program of research conducted by the technology platform.
"VDM-tekhnika" LLC is a resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, has the ability to use scientific infrastructure facilities and scientific equipment of Center.
In 2015-2017 the Project co-financed by the Skolkovo Foundation was implemented. The company designed VDM wind turbine for high efficient operating in the extended range of wind speeds, including the areas with the average annual wind speed (Vave) of 3-6 m/s.
Implemented technical solutions provide efficient power take-off and conversion of the energy of the low-potential wind flow.
In course of the Project on the test site in St. Petersburg wind monitoring was held (IEC 61400-2) and field test of wind turbine was conducted (IEC 61400-12-1) with the use of hardware and software complex including wind measuring complex. International expertise of the Project was conducted by DNV GL.
The prototype of the small wind turbine with a rated wind speed of 7 m/s was designed and tested on the basis of innovative technologies. The wind turbine has unique competitive advantages in the segment of low wind speeds. For the territories with an average annual wind speed of 4 m/s, the capacity factor is 32%, and cost of electricity is 3 times lower than the competitors.
Since August 2017, the VDM wind turbine has been online broadcasting on our website.
According to international applications PCT/RU2015/000918 and PCT/RU2016/000868 “Method of controlling the power take-off of a wind turbine”, 16 international patents for inventions are issued.
In 2016, the development "The system of wind motor power take-off" was awarded with the Gold Medal at International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva (Switzerland).
In 2018, the Project received the Gold Plus Medal (Grand Prix) and Premo a la mejor innovacion (Main Jury Prize) at the International Exhibition «Innova Valencia 2018». New wind turbines with a capacity up to 100 kW, adapted to the cold climate, can be successfully used as part of hybrid power supply systems with a high level of fuel substitution for objects and settlements in remote and inaccessible areas.
Since September 2017, in course of the agreement with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Project “Development of a combined energy storage device based on battery and supercapacitor modules for local power supply systems with renewable energy sources” has been being performed.
"VDM-tekhnika" LLC is a member of the Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (RAWI) and American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
